Our Story

As an artist, I understand you need to have resources to apply and then participate in exhibitions.

After thoughtful consideration on how to make exhibitions more accessible, we landed on creating online exhibitions, which are economically inclusive. This model provides a level playing field where talent and creativity, rather than financial resources, are the primary criteria for participation.

We want our platform to be a supportive space and to inspire new connections. While we are currently only online, our long term goal is to expand to physical form.

The name Azalea comes from the Greek word ‘dry’. However, it is not to be seen as a negative. Azalea flowers naturally grow in the mountains and can withstand long periods without water; they are resilient and so are we!

Our Mission

Azalea Arts was created to provide a supportive community and economically inclusive opportunities for artists. While we have a modest entry fee to support our platform's operations, we are committed to ensuring that our exhibitions remain accessible to all. We offer fee waivers for artists facing financial constraints because we want you to focus on what is most important, your art.
